Earlier this week I had a meeting with Patrick Myles, art director at the RIBA Journal, the oldest architectural magazine in the world and produced by the Royal Institute of British Architects. Patrick very kindly gave me a copy of the latest magazine and it was only when reading the issue later that I realised I once had the pleasure of photographing the architect, Bryan Jefferson, whose obituary was in the magazine. However, I also didn’t realise Bryan Jefferson was the architect of an amazing Brutalist building I had photographed recently in Sheffield – the now listed Moor Street electricity sub-station, which I thought resembled a concrete cathedral!
