I am always fascinated by Brutalist architecture, but recognise I am in something of a minority in my taste. I particularly like Brutalism’s brazen appearance, the forthright statement of intent and in my opinion it’s a shame so much of this style of architecture has been demolished, as there really was not that much to start with, despite the perceived assumption of it being ubiquitous and dominating so many city centres. The combination of coming up against this car park on Henrietta Street, just north of Oxford Street in London at street level and the striking sunlight made it an obvious addition to my series ‘Now That’s What I Call Brutalism!
