Earlier last year I had the pleasure to visit Hayward Tyler, an industrial pump manufacturer in Luton, where I had been commissioned to photograph the chief executive, Ewan Lloyd-Baker, for the Royal Bank of Scotland. Given my fascination for manufacturing in Britain I asked if I could return to photograph some of the various high-tech processes, together with the workers involved. In the autumn of last year I entered a selection of the images into the EEF (The Manufacturers’ Organisation) annual photography competition and was honoured to have one of my photographs selected for the exhibition held last month at the House of Commons.
