Given my limited experience of manufacturing, I am always in awe of people who do make something in Britain, despite the often quoted ‘we don’t make anything in the UK anymore’, which is not actually true.  The UK might not manufacture in the same volumes of the past, but we still have much to be proud of and I recently had the great pleasure of photographing at Hayward Tyler in Luton, Bedfordshire who are a world-class supplier of industrial electrical pumps. Spending a day in the factory was a fascinating insight to high-tech manufacturing, but it’s always interesting to note the need for some manual labour in the process.
