Recently, I was fortunate to be in South Devon and I always can’t resist visiting Shoalstone open-air swimming pool – not for a swim, but to enjoy the stunning views across Torbay.  On this occasion the water had been drained – I think they were telling me something! – but reminded me of a previous visit a few years earlier, when strangely the pool surround was painted in a different colour.
